Anar joined GSK Vaccines in 2006. She is currently Director of Global Medical Affairs Lead for Hepatitis Vaccines at GSK Vaccines Headquarters in Belgium, focusing on vaccines for hepatitis A and B. In earlier roles, she worked on seasonal influenza, pandemic H1N1 and prepandemic H5N1 influenza vaccines. She has also worked in GSK’s Communications team in London.
Anar is passionate about increasing prevention in healthcare systems and working across cultures. With the end goal of making vaccination accessible as widely as possible, she works with teams to develop global scientific and access strategies, facilitates understanding of the value of vaccines to a range of audiences, communicating the science behind them and the public health impact they can offer to individuals and populations.
Before joining GSK, Anar worked in Canada where she specialized in molecular biology, pharmacovigilance and regulatory affairs across a range of medicines and vaccines.
Anar is author of several scientific peer-reviewed publications in relation to Influenza and Hepatitis A. She has presented at various scientific conferences.
Anar graduated from Western University in Canada, with a Bachelor of Science, major in Biology. In 2019, she has completed the Advanced course of vaccinology at the Merieux Foundation at University of Geneva, Switzerland.
