Dr. Joon Hyung Kim has worked as a Senior Clinical Research and Development lead for Pandemic Influenza, followed by Shingrix since 2016. Dr. Kim has led the clinical trials for pandemic influenza vaccine in children aged 6 to 35 months and Shingrix clinical trials. Dr. Kim joined GSK in 2010 initially serving as Medical Advisor in the Korea Medical Team followed by Vaccines Medical Director, Korea, where he led both locally sponsored epidemiologic and post marketing surveillance studies. Prior to coming to GSK, Dr.Kim served as an Epidemic Intelligence Officer for the Korean CDC. There he led epidemiologic investigations on pandemic influenza A (H1N1). He completed medical school at Yonsei University College of Medicine in Seoul, South Korea, and is board certified in internal medicine.
