Mark B. Loeb, MD, is an Infectious Disease physician and medical microbiologist. He is a Professor in the Departments of Pathology and Molecular Medicine and Health Research Methods Evidence and Impact at McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario. He holds the Michael DeGroote Chair in Infectious Diseases and serves as a Division Director of Infectious Diseases in the Department of Medicine. Dr. Loeb has conducted observational studies and randomized trials of antibiotic use in residents of long-term care facilities. He has been funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, National Institute of Health, and the World Health Organization. He has published 349 peer-reviewed articles and has served on 45 international, national, and provincial advisory committees. He is a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences and was inducted as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada.
