Paul J Planet MD PhD is a pediatric infectious disease specialist at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and an Assistant Professor at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Planet's laboratory studies the evolution of infectious disease using molecular and bioinformatic techniques. Special interests include evolution of Staphylococcus aureus, nontuberculous mycobacteria, and Prevotella melaninogenica. Clinically, in addition to general infectious disease, Dr. Planet specializes in the treatment of infections in cystic fibrosis. Dr. Planet received his undergraduate degree from Yale University. He completed his MD, PhD, Residency, and Fellowship at Columbia University.
