Ass. prof. Snjezana Zidovec Lepej, PhD is a Head of Department of Immunological and Molecular Diagnostics, University Hospital for Infectious Diseases „Dr. Fran Mihaljevic“ in Zagreb, Croatia. She is an assistant professor of molecular biology and biochemistry at the Department of Biology, Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb, Croatia and the scientific advisor at the University of Zagreb School of Medicine. Main areas of her expertise include clinical molecular diagnostics of infectious diseases, molecular virology and immunology with particular emphasis on molecular epidemiology of HIV and viral hepatitis, antiviral resistance to drugs, cellular and cytokine immunity. She has been the principal investigator and researcher in 9 national and international projects on molecular virology and immunology, published 113 scientific publications receiving 913 citations (available in Pubmed under Lepej SZ, Zidovec Lepej S, Zidovec S), served as a reviewer for international and national scientific projects and abstracts for numerous scientific conferences, mentored 6 PhD students. Since 2010., she is an expert in laboratory acreditation in molecular microbiology and flow cytometry for Croatian Acreditation Agency. Ass. prof. Zidovec is a member of the ESCMID Educational Subcommittee.
