Dr. Akpoji is originally from Nigeria by way of West Palm Beach, FL and currently resides in Cleveland, OH. He received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 2015. Upon graduation, he completed an ASHP-accredited PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency in 2016 at the Atlanta VA Medical Center. Dr. Akpoji completed his PGY-2 Infectious Diseases Pharmacy Residency at the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center in 2017 and was subsequently hired as their Antimicrobial Stewardship Pharmacist for the VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System. His primary responsibilities include antimicrobial use data analytics, clinical stewardship rounds, and chairing the facility's Antimicrobial Stewardship Program (ASP) Committee. His professional interests consist of penicillin allergy de-labeling, outpatient ASP, process improvement, clinical informatics, and pharmacy advocacy for drug price transparency.
