Dr. Rachyl Fornaro, PharmD has been passionate about research and the field of infectious diseases since her prerequisite courses at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC). She obtained her pharmD degree from University of Maryland School of Pharmacy, where she completed the Geriatric and Palliative Care Pathway Certificate, was heavily involved in student organizations like the American Society for Consultant Pharmacists and Rho Chi Omicron Chapter, and was inducted into the Phi Lambda Sigma Pharmacy Leadership Society. Her pathway project led to her first publication in theJournal of Gerontological Nursing. In June 2020, she completed her PGY-1 in Pharmacy Practice at UW Medicine Valley Medical Center, where she continued to pursue clinical research through her residency projects and with the Plein Center for Geriatric Pharmacy Research, Education and Outreach. This passion for research and desire to care for a vulnerable population has transformed into the beginnings of a career as a NICU pharmacist at UW Medicine Valley Medical Center.
