Dr. E.R. Chulie Ulloa is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics, Medicine, and Microbiology & Molecular Genetics at the UC Irvine School of Medicine, where her laboratory investigates host-directed treatment strategies for the treatment of drug-resistant bacteria and difficult to treat infections. She is also an attending physician in the Division of Infectious Diseases at the Children’s Hospital of Orange County. Her research is funded by a Harold Amos Award of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, NIH/NIAID K08 Career Development Award, and a University of California President's Award. She completed medical training at Stanford University School of Medicine, where she also earned a Master of Science in Microbiology and Immunology, and worked with the CDC as a Hubert Global Health Fellow in Kenya. Dr. Ulloa went on to complete residency at Boston Children’s Hospital/Boston Medical Center, and infectious diseases training at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia with support from the Pediatric Scientist Development Program.
