Alex Zimmet, MD is a chief resident in Internal Medicine at the University of Virginia, and is currently pursuing a fellowship in Infectious Diseases. His current research interests focus on using data analytics and large data sets to create tools that stratify patients' likelihood of having an infection, especially in the immunocompromised population. The hope is that these tools may assist with early identification of infected patients, as well as both diagnostic and antimicrobial stewardship.
