David possesses over 20 years of broad cross-disciplinary experience in multiple analytical and data science domains, with over 22 peer-reviewed publications. He performed his early work as an NSF principal investigator in computational molecular biology and biophysics at The Scripps Research Institute and University of Michigan. This work spanned multiple projects in biomedical/molecular informatics and high-performance computing. Following this work, he obtained a NIH translational research grant in emerging infectious diseases at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine to investigate machine learning and modeling constructs for assessing influenza antigenic evolution, epidemic risk, and vaccine design. Post-academia, David has worked on risk analytics for mortgage-backed securities as a Quantitative Associate at Citigroup, and continues to work with a network of hospitals and academic researchers in the Greater Philadelphia Area as a biomedical informatics consultant on clinical pediatric studies. Since 2015, David has served as Data Scientist in the Smart Device and Data Sciences Group and the Devices Innovation Team at Becton Dickinson Technologies and Innovation (BDTI) in Research Triangle Park, NC. There, his analytics work fed into the development of algorithmic components deployed into prototype iterations of the BD Diabetes Care App. David joined the Global Clinical Development Data Science Team of Becton Dickinson in late 2019 as Data Science Manager, and has continued to contribute his quantitative expertise broadly across the business.
