My name is Mariam Ebeid, and I am a fourth year medical student at the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) in Jackson, MS. I am interested in public and global health and excited to be applying to Medicine-Pediatrics this year. I have a B.S. in Biology and B.A. in Spanish from Rhodes College in Memphis, TN. At UMMC, I served as our class community service chair, founded Food Recovery Network at UMMC, which reroutes excess cafeteria food to a local community center, and started the Adopt an Elder program, which delivers groceries to our elderly community members during the COVID-19 pandemic.
