Madeleine (Mady) R. Heldman, MD is a senior Infectious Diseases fellow at the University of Washington in Seattle, WA. She completed her medical school and internal medicine residency at Northwestern University in Chicago, IL, where she developed an interest in the field of transplantation. She studies viral infections in immunocompromised hosts, including recipients of solid organ and hematopoetic cell transplants, and is leading a national registry of solid organ transplant recipients with COVID-19. Additional interests include infectious complications of chimeric antigen receptor-T (CAR-T) cell immunotherapy and other novel small molecule and biologic therapeutics used to treat malignancies and inflammatory diseases.
