Michael Deaney is a third-year pharmacy student from the University of South Carolina College of Pharmacy. He is originally from Wilmington, North Carolina and completed his undergraduate coursework at the University of South Carolina. Michael has a strong interest in health advocacy and community service. In addition to his work with Prisma Health's Learner-Driven Convaslescent Plasma Call Center, he serves as the President of his school's Student National Pharmaceutical Association (SNPhA) chapter, an organization dedicated to serving underserved minotrities in healthcare. He is also a South Carolina Area Health Education Consortium (SC AHEC) Scholar, participating in a program focusing on interprofessional training and building culutral competencies to improve patient care. Michael's goal is to pursue a post-doctoral residency program upon graduation to become a clinical pharmacist. His current interests include infectious disease and ambulatory care pharmacy.
