Jennifer O. Spicer, MD, MPH is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases at Emory University School of Medicine. She received a combined Medical Degree and Master of Public Health in Epidemiology from Emory University in 2012. She completed her residency and chief residency in Internal Medicine followed by her Infectious Diseases fellowship at Emory University where she joined the faculty in July 2019.
Her primary interest is in medical education, and she is currently completing her masters degree in health professions education at the University of Illinois Chicago campus. She has received numerous teaching awards throughout her residency and fellowship training. Her educational roles as faculty include serving as an associate program director for the internal medicine residency program, directing the Distinction in Medical Education for the IM residency program, and leading a month-long pre-clinical course for first year medical students introducing them to microbiology, immunology, pathology, and pharmacology.
Her research interests include curriculum development & evaluation, active learning techniques, the science of learning, and career development and identity formation for clinician educators.
