Dr. Brett Baker is the founder of Microbion as well as the original formulator of the company's mission, scientific projects, and business strategies. He identified Microbion's platform antimicrobial technology as a highly valuable tool in the fight against infectious diseases and other diseases.
Dr. Baker is a primary physician with advanced training in cancer research. His graduate research led to the identification of the first animal homolog of the human ICAM-1 (intercellular adhesion molecule-1) molecule.
Dr. Baker has served as the author, Principal Investigator, or other key role for over $24 million in grants awarded to Microbion from the US Department of Defense (DOD), the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the CF Foundation, CARB-X, and other government agencies. He leads Microbion's clinical studies, and he has received training in microbial biofilm research from the Center for Biofilm Engineering at Montana State University. Dr. Baker has also written a white paper relating to the role of bacteria in the clinical course of COVID-19.
