David Hyung Won Oh, MD/MPH is a recent graduate from Tufts University School of Medicine. Before going to medical school, he had a combination of both field experience in public health as well as international health policymaking, which inspired him to continue to be involved with public health research initiatives during his medical training. He is passionate about developing new health initiatives, piloting those projects, and having robust research data to support those initiatives to better the health of his community, whether local or global. Through his current residency in internal medicine and background in public health, he wishes to work with patients directly but also impact policies that may improve the health of populations for generations.
Through the Epidemiology Elective Program at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, he had an opportunity to work with the Mycotics Disease Branch of National Center for Emerging Zoonotic Infectious Diseases. This work was possible through his collaboration with amazing scientists, researchers, and epidemiologists at the Mycotics Disease Branch.
When not at the hospital or doing research in public health, he likes to enjoy hikes in the beautiful outdoors of his current residence in California, read, and play viola with his friend's band called Dragonboi.
