Originally from the Dayton, Ohio area, Dr. J. Patrik Hornak completed his B.S. and M.D. education at the University of Cincinnati. He then moved to Southeast Texas for his Residency in Internal Medicine at The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston (UTMB Health), graduating in 2020 with the Don W. Powell Award for Excellence. Dr. Hornak is currently an Infectious Diseases Fellow (PGY-4) at UTMB Health pursuing an academic ID career with particular interests in Staphylococcus aureus bloodstream infections, HIV PrEP, medical education, and antimicrobial stewardship. This is his second time attending (and presenting at) IDWeek!
