Yiyou Gu is a Postdoctoral Fellow working in the Division of Infectious Diseases at the Lundquist Institute and Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. He earned his bachelor degree in Animal Science and Technology Department from Nanjing Agricultural University located in Nanjing, China. Then he received Ph.D degree in Biological Science from Michigan Technology University, trained in Dr. Guiliang Tang’s Lab, there he studied gene silencing, miRNA function and pathway in plant system. In 2017, he joined Dr. Ashraf S. Ibrahim’s lab, where he focusing the research in human pathogenic fungi, in particular, he is working on pathogenic gene function study in Mucorales species.
