Richard W. Scott, PhD. Vice President of Research at Fox Chase Chemical Diversity, Inc. located in Doylestown, PA. I received my BS degree at Muhlenberg College, Allentown, PA and my PhD degree at the University of Pensylvania. Philadelphia, PA. My postdoctoral training was at the Institute of Research, Fox Chase Cancer Center in the laboratory of Dr. Shirley Tilghman. I began a pharmaceutical research career at E.I. Dupont deNemours and then moved Cephalon, Inc. becoming Vice President of Biology leading research and drug discovery activiies. I was a co-founder of PolyMedix Inc. and led a drug discovery program for new antibiotics for Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacterial infections. The lead compound, brilacidin, is at the clinical stage in two indications, skin and skin structure infections and oral mucositis. I began working at Fox Chase Chemical Diversity Center in 2012 leading drug discovery programs for antibacterial and antifungal indications.
