Elizabeth Monsees, PhD, MBA, RN, CIC, FAPIC, has worked in the infection prevention and control field for over 17 years and is currently the Antibiotic Stewardship Program Manager & Sr. Patient Care Services Researcher at Children’s Mercy Hospital.
Dr. Monsees has served on the APIC Education Committee, as Co-Chair of the APIC Communications Committee and Co-Chair of the Nominating and Awards Committee. She has authored several chapters in the APIC Text, including the first antimicrobial stewardship chapter and is on the American Journal of Infection Control editorial board.
Dr. Monsees publishes her research on factors influencing frontline nurses’ participation as antimicrobial stewards and helped to develop the ANA/CDC White Paper from the Antibiotic Stewardship Working Group. She is a member on the SHEA Research Committee and she has delivered presentations at local, national, and international conferences, with specific infection prevention training programs in Tel Aviv and Cairo.
