Dr. Daniel Owusu, an EIS Officer in the Influenza Division of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), holds a DrPH degree from East Tennessee State University, MPhil in Public Health from University of Cambridge, and BA in Nursing and Psychology from University of Ghana. Prior to joining the CDC, Dr. Owusu worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Tobacco Center of Regulatory Science, School of Public Health, Georgia State University from 2016 to 2019, where he applied advanced quantitative and qualitative methods in the development and testing of anti-tobacco messages, and analyzing data from national datasets on risk perceptions around novel tobacco products. Dr. Owusu has extensive experience designing, planning, and executing epidemiologic studies. He authored or co-authored multiple peer-reviewed articles in prestigious international journals, presented at multiple national and international scientific conferences, and served as a peer reviewer for highly ranked public health journals and scientific conferences.
