Dr. Datta is an Instructor in the Section of Infectious Diseases at the Yale School of Medicine and Assistant Hospital Epidemiologist at the Veterans Affairs Connecticut Healthcare System. He completed his undergraduate education at Tufts University, earned his MPH at the Yale School of Public Health, and received his MD/PhD at the University of California Irvine School of Medicine under the mentorship of Dr. Susan Huang. His dissertation focused on quantifying the burden and transmission potential of multidrug-resistant organisms across statewide healthcare facilities. Dr. Datta entered the American Board of Internal Medicine Physician-Scientist Research Pathway at the Yale School of Medicine in 2014 and completed his infectious diseases fellowship in 2020. His current research focuses on antibiotic stewardship and infection prevention in older adults. His areas of interest include hospital epidemiology and antibiotic resistance.
