Austin Marshall is a fourth-year medical student at UC San Diego School of Medicine, currently on his gap year pursuing a Masters in Public Health at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Born and raised in San Diego, California, Austin attended UC Berkeley for his undergraduate education in public health. He recently finished his third year of medical school as part of the PRIME-Health Equity program at UC San Diego's School of Medicine, and is pursuing his master's degree at the Harvard Chan School of Public Health. Austin is committed to fighting on behalf of underserved communities, with a particular focus on LGBT health inequities, and wants to expand his knowledge of how to create effective health policy to remedy these disparities. Austin is also highly interested in medical education and building curiculum focused on giving trainees the tools to address health disparities. In his free time, Austin spends time following politics through the data journalism site FiveThirtyEight, and has achieved near-professional rankings in the competitive team game Overwatch.
