Amanda Strudwick is a Clinical Research Nurse/Coordinator II at the Emory University School of Medicine Infectious Diseases Division in Atlanta, GA. She is a 2nd career Registered Nurse and has obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology. Amanda currently works with Dr. Michael H. Woodworth on Sponsor-Investigator initiated studies that relate to the human microbiome and antibiotic resistance. She's been involved in ID research since 2009 and has worked on many projects ranging from H1N1 and malaria vaccines to fecal microbiota therapy. Amanda can be found working on all aspects of research from the patient facing and nursing side, to the protocol writing and the regulatory side, to the manufacturing of investigational product and the creation of databases. She loves to see patients regain their quality of life through participation in her studies and enjoys the variety of experiences that her work brings. Amanda hopes to one day help make a broader impact on guiding antibiotic usage and their alternatives.
