Dr. Hsueh is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, and Medical Director of the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program as well as one of the Associate Hospital Epidemiologists at Barnes-Jewish Hospital. He is a board-certified ID physician with specialized training in leadership and patient safety and quality improvement. His research interest is in pragmatic antimicrobial stewardship interventions, assessment of antimicrobial use, and antimicrobial stewardship education. For the last 4 years, Dr. Hsueh has been the Program Director for the CDC-sponsored national Leadership in Hospital Epidemiology, Antimicrobial Stewardship, and Public Health (LEAP) Fellowship. This Fellowship is run by the three ID professional societies IDSA, SHEA, and PIDS and intended to encourage the development of ID leaders capable of working well with local and national public health programs.
