Dr. Maki is a 2nd year fellow in her Infectious Diseases fellowship at Henry Ford Health System, with a focus on global health. She received her bachelor's degree in physiology at Michigan State University in 2010, and medical degree from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2015. She has completed Internal Medicine residency in 2018 and a global health fellowship in 2019 at Henry Ford Health System. She has been involved in many studies regarding antimicrobial stewardship worldwide, including Asia and South America. She was involved in a four country study with the World Health Organization in Bhutan, Malawi, Federated States of Micronesia, and Nepal regarding the feasibility of a draft toolkit on antimicrobial stewardship in low- and middle- income countires, which is now published.
