Marin Schweizer, PhD is an Associate Professor at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine and Investigator at the Iowa City VA Health Care System. She has performed multiple federally-funded research studies to evaluate the effectiveness of interventions to prevent surgical site infections. She is currently a coauthor on the SHEA Surgical Site Infection Compendium update. Her research also focuses on de-implementation of testing and treatment that may not improve patient care, such as overuse of antibiotics.
