Nikunj Vyas received his PharmD from St. John’s University in 2012. He completed a PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency at Atlantic Health System in Morristown, NJ and then went on to complete a PGY-2 Pharmacy Residency in infectious diseases at West Virginia University Healthcare. Nikunj is currently a clinical pharmacy specialist in infectious diseases at Kennedy Health and is the pharmacist lead of antimicrobial stewardship committee for the health system.
At Kennedy Health, Nikunj has helped initiate and cultivate Antimicrobial Stewardship Program which he co-chairs with a physician lead. He also serves as a pharmacist lead for Infection Control Committee and he also led numerous multi-discipline initiatives focusing on hospital acquired infections and sepsis care. Through his work he has been recognized by New Jersey Hospital Association to serve as a pharmacist lead for statewide antimicrobial stewardship collaborative and a lead panelist for statewide sepsis collaborative.
Additionally, Nikunj serves as a preceptor and a mentor for students and PGY-1 Pharmacy Residents at Kennedy Health. He has also led multiple research projects focusing on Antimicrobial Stewardship, gram negative resistance and rapid diagnostic testing which have been presented nationally. Nikunj is a huge sports fan and enjoys traveling abroad with his family.
