Sanya J Thomas, MD, is currently an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics, within the Division of Infectious Diseases and a faculty member within the Host Defense Program at Nationwide Children's Hospital/Ohio State University. She obtained her medical degree from Jagiellonian University School of Medicine, Krakow, Poland and completed her Pediatrics residency at Kansas University School of Medicine. She then complered her fellowship in Pediatric Infectious Diseases at Duke University where she also obtained a certificate in clinical research and epidemiology through the Clinical Research Training Program at Duke University. Her Children's Miracle Network grant-funded primary scholarly activity during fellowship focused on risk factors and outcomes of adenovirus disease in pediatric stem cell transplant recipients. At Nationwide Children's, she continues her commitment towards improving infectious outcomes in immunocompromised patients by continuing to practice as a clinical researcher within the Host Defense Program.
