Rachel Mann Smith is Surveillance Team Lead in the International Infection Control Program within the Division for Healthcare Quality Promotion at CDC. Her work focuses on understanding antibiotic resistance transmission and burden in low and middle income countries (LMIC) and developing novel methods for healthcare-associated infection surveillance and prevention in LMIC. She received her BA from the University of California, Berkeley (UCB) and her MD from the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). She completed a residency in Internal Medicine at UCSF and an MPH at UCB.
