LT Piotr Wisniewski, MD, is an infectious disease fellow at the Naval Medical Center San Diego. He was born in the idyllic suburbs of northern Poland but grew up in the wilds of San Diego, CA. He graduated summa cum laude from San Diego State University with a bachelor of arts degree in biology and a minor in religious studies. He completed medical school at the Uniformed Services University in Bethesda, MD before completing internal medicine residency at the Naval Medical Center San Diego. He is currently toiling in infectious disease fellowship. His research interests include coccidioidomycosis and extrapulmonary tuberculosis. He has been bonded into marriage by a surgeon and is father to two large dogs and one small cat. He enjoys being outdoors, reading fantasy novels, rock climbing, cycling, and responsible consumption of beer.
