Luis Gonzalez Corro, MD (he/him/his) received his medical training at the Escuela Latinoamericana de Medicina in Havana, Cuba. He subsequently moved to New York City where he initially worked making house calls in Harlem and the Bronx as a part of a community medical team, as well as in the inpatient setting in a community hospital. After beginning residency in the Primary Care and Social Internal Medicine program at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, Luis has been involved in diverse projects, including the design of a social medicine curriculum for interns, as well as various research projects around infectious diseases. He is passionate about building health in marginalized populations, education in social medicine, and community-based approaches to research. He has presented on topics including approaches to Primary Care in New York City, the Cuban health system, and community-centered approaches to graduate medical education.
