Gemma Downham, MPH, CIC, FAPIC is the Director of Infection Prevention at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center. She is a core advisor for CDC’s Making Dialysis Safer Campaign. She has also served as an editor for the APIC textbook and co-author of the APIC CLABSI Implementation Guide. Gemma is on the board of directors for the Southern NJ Chapter of APIC and currently serves as the Chapter Director. Gemma actively participates and conducts research in the areas of bloodstream infection prevention and antimicrobial stewardship and has collaborated on several research projects published in Infection Control and Hospital Epidemiology, American Journal of Infection Control, Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy, CDC’s Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report, and the American Journal of Kidney Disease.
