I am Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine, Immunocompromised Host Section, Division of Infectious Diseases at University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine; and Staff Physician at the Infectious Diseases clinic of the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, Miami, Florida.
I have been at my current position since 2014. My focus is on Infectious Diseases in transplant (solid organ and stem cell transplant) patients as well as hematological malignancy patients receiving chemotherapy or T cell therapies. I completed internal medicine residency at Jacobi Medical Center, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx, NY in 2011; and a fellowship in ID at New York Medical College, Valhalla, NY in 2013; followed by a Transplant Infectious Diseases fellowship at the University Health Network, University of Toronto, 2013-2014.
I am full member of the Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA), Associate Member of the American Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation (ASBMT), former member of the American Society of Transplantation (AST) - Infectious Diseases Community of Practice and grant-awardee of the Centers for AIDS Research (CFAR) program. I am in the Editorial Board for Transplant Infectious Diseases, and have been ad-hoc reviewer for Lancet Infectious Diseases, Plos One, American Journal of Transplantation, Transplant Infectious Diseases, Clinical transplantation, among others. I have extensive background in translational research in the fields of rheumatology, infectious diseases, HIV/AIDS and transplant medicine with several publications in prestigious scientific journals. Research interests include cell mediated immunuty, CMV, Aspergillus, and vaccine responses in immunocompromised hosts.
