Cristina Costales M.D. is a current Medical Microbiology Fellow at Stanford Department of Pathology. She completed residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology in 2020 at LAC+USC Medical Center. In 2018, she was selected as a VECD Fogarty Global Health Research Fellow at Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre in Tanzania investigating fatal febrile illness utilizing autopsy diagnostics. Her academic interests include infectious disease pathology and improving laboratory diagnostics in resource limited settings.
