Amanda M. Kong (Farr), DrPH, is a lead researcher in IBM Watson Health’s Outcomes Research group. Dr. Kong has been involved in claims-based analyses in various clinical areas, including human immunodeficiency virus, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, diabetes, respiratory syncytial virus, and multiple sclerosis. She also has participated in the building of cost-effectiveness models and in analyses utilizing EMR data and Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) data. At IBM Watson Health, her previous roles include SAS programmer and senior analyst. Prior to joining IBM Watson Health, Dr. Kong’s research focused on individual- and neighborhood-level factors associated with community-associated drug resistant infections using administrative hospitalization data. She has interned at the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene in the Bureau of Communicable Diseases and the International Center for AIDS Care and Treatment Programs’ Monitoring and Evaluation Unit. Dr. Kong has co-authored over 50 peer-reviewed publications. Dr. Kong holds a BS in biology from Tufts University, an MPH in epidemiology from Columbia University, and a DrPH in epidemiology from the City University of New York Graduate School of Public Health & Health Policy.
