Yoonyoung Choi, BPharm, M.S., Ph.D., is a pharmaco-epidemiologist and pharmacist, currently working as a director in the Center for Observational and Real-World Evidence at Merck since 2018. She received the degrees of Bachelor of Pharmacy (2009) and Master of Science in Clinical Pharmacy (2011) from Sookmyung Women’s University in Seoul, South Korea, and a Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences (2017), and Ph.D. with a concentration in pharmacoepidemiology from the University of Florida College of Pharmacy (2018). She has experience working in clinical pharmacy, the pharmaceutical industry, and drug information research. Her research interests are in infectious disease and vaccine therapeutic areas including natural history studies, comparative effectiveness and safety research, and pragmatic trials. Her current research focus and collaborations are in developing real-world evidence such as evaluation of population-based incidence, incremental risk of complications, patient-reported outcomes, and development of static and dynamic transmission economic models.
