Amanda Klinger is a hospitalist at Bellevue Hospital in New York City and a member of the Special Pathogens Program there. She attended the University of Pennsylvania for her undergraduate studies and subsequently matriculated at New York University School of Medicine. She completed her internal medicine residency training at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) in Boston. With a particular interest in global health, Amanda completed a global health fellowship at BIDMC, working at Scottish Livingstone Hospital in Botswana. She has also spent time working in Ghana and Madagascar during her training. While at Bellevue Hospital, she has continued to work on capacity building efforts and quality improvement projects with nurses and doctors in Botswana. As a part of the Special Pathogens Program, she acts as the hospitalist liaison to the program, and was one of the initial hospitalists working on the COVID-19 team in early March 2020.
