I majored my biology studies in genetics and microbiology. During my PhD, I genetically characterized lung cancer, re-classifying large-cell lung carinoma based on genetic alterations. Since then I am invested in the clinical research on severe fungal infections in humans. I manage the global registry on respective infections FungiScope, which has been initiated in 2003 and has grown since to a worldwide network of great and commited physicians and scientists. Together we work on improving the clinical management of rare and not so rare fungal infections.
