Yamil Michelen MD is a second year Infectious Diseases fellow at Stony Brook University Hospital in Long Island, New York.
Was born and raised in the Dominican Republic, where he went to medical school at Universidad Iberoamericana (UNIBE). In 2014 started Internal Medicine residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, Florida, where also served as Chief Resident. After residency went for further training at University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Centeras as a Leukemia Fellow for a year. In 2019 he joined Stony Brook University Hospital to complete training in Infectious Diseases.
Major interests is infections in immunosuppresed patients, specially in hematological maligancies.
