Dr. Shon A Remich completed his medical schooling at the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center and completed his Pediatric internship and residency as an active duty military officer. After completing his tenure as Chief of Pediatrics (Reynolds Army Hospital), he completed his post-doctoral work in Clinical Pharmacology at Georgetown University and the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (2001). Dr. Remich then directed the US Army malaria drug development program at the United States Army Military Research Unit in Kenya, where he conducted Africa’s first GMP produced IV Artesunate clinical trial (2003). Following his tour in Kenya, he returned to complete an additional post doctorate in Allergy and Immunology at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center (2006) and returned to Kenya leading the DoD’s President’s Emergency Plan for Aids Relief (PEPFAR) program. Upon his second return from Kenya (2012), Dr. Remich chaired the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research’s (WRAIR) Institutional Review Board and took the mantel of WRAIR’s Translational Medicine Program conducting interventional clinical trials in Malaria, Enteric diseases, Dengue, Anthrax, and the First in Human VSV-Ebola vaccine.
Following his 24 year career in the US Army, Dr. Remich joined Pfizer as Senior Director, Medical R&D and has works with Pfizer’s vaccine group developing its promising C. diff vaccine candidate, as well as clinical lead for Pfizer’s tick born encephalitis vaccine (Tico-Vax), Pfizer’s newly acquired Lyme vaccine candidate, and supporting the COVID vaccine effort.
