Dr. Elizabeth Hirsch (@EB_Hirsch) is a tenured Associate Professor in the Department of Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology at the University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy. She received B.S. and PharmD (2007) degrees from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. She then completed a PGY1 pharmacy practice residency and an infectious diseases pharmacotherapy fellowship at the University of Houston College of Pharmacy and St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital in Houston, Texas. Dr. Hirsch served as faculty at Northeastern University and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts, from 2011-2017, before moving her research program to the University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy in 2017. Her translational research program focuses on the detection and treatment of multidrug-resistant gram-negative infections, with the overall goal of improving the use of antimicrobials for patients with resistant bacterial infections. Her research program has been supported by federal, foundation, and industry sponsors.
