Dr. Douglas Slain is a Professor and the Department Chairman of Clinical Pharmacy at the WVU School of Pharmacy. He also has a faculty appointment in the WVU School of Medicine. He serves as an Infectious Diseases Clinical Specialist at WVU Medicine’s Ruby Memorial Hospital and Clinics.
He received his Pharmacy Bachelors of Science degree and his Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh. He then completed a residency and fellowship in Infectious Diseases Pharmacotherapy at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond.
Dr. Slain serves as the Global Affairs Liaison for the School of Pharmacy where he oversees the global health and international activities of the school. His clinical and research interests include: antimicrobial stewardship, clinical use of antibacterials and antifungals, influenza therapy, and global health.
