Dr. Janine Danko is a board-certified internist and Infectious Disease subspecialist and an active duty military physician in the United States Navy. She graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelors of Arts in Microbiology and with University and Departmental Honors in 1996 and received her MD from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, MD and a Masters of Public Health degree (MPH) from The Johns Hopkins School of Public Health. Her public health degree was focused in International Health, Infectious Disease Epidemiology and Vaccines. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine and her Infectious Diseases fellowship at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland.
Dr. Danko has led clinical trials studying dengue DNA vaccines, and in the evaluation of influenza therapeutics throughout her career. She is an active Associate Professor of Medicine at the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences, serves as staff attending on the Internal Medicine Inpatient service and Infectious Disease Consult service at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, and works at Walter Reed in an executive leadership role of Walter Reed’s Directorate for Medical Services.
