Matthew B. Goetz, MD is Professor of Clinical Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, Chief of Infectious Diseases at the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System and Associate Program Director of the UCLA Multicampus Infectious Diseases Fellowship Program.
Dr. Goetz serves on the Medical Advisory Panel to the VA Pharmacy Benefits Management Group, and is a member of the VA Antimicrobial Stewardship Taskforce, Infectious Diseases Field Advisory Committee, and the National HIV Technical Advisory Group. He is also an ad hoc member of the FDA Anti-Microbial Drug Advisory Committee.
Dr. Goetz has been an investigator on projects sponsored by the VA, NIH and the CDC that range from interventional studies to improve antimicrobial stewardship programs to assessments of long-term outcomes and quality of care in HIV- and HCV-infected individuals. He has published over 200 per-reviewed articles.
