Michelle Floris-Moore, MD, MS is an Infectious Diseases physician and clinician researcher with expertise in HIV clinical research on cardiometabolic and other non-AIDS complications of aging among people living with HIV. She is Associate Professor of Medicine and Director of the Infectious Diseases Fellowship Training Program at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. She is an investigator in UNC's Center for AIDS Research (CFAR), the Women's Interagency HIV Study (WIHS), and the AIDS Clinical Trials Unit (ACTU) and is Director of their CFAR's HIV Aging & Comorbidities Special Interest Group which fosters multidisciplinary research collaborations to address the needs of the aging HIV-infected population. In addition, Dr. Floris-Moore has been Principal Investigator of studies on associations of HIV-related inflammatory mediators with atherosclerosis, co-investigator on prospective cohort studies of dyslipidemia, lipodystrophy and insulin resistance in the aging HIV-infected population. She serves on the IDWeek Program Committee, IDSA Leadership Development Committee, and the HIVMA Board of Directors.
