Susan J. Rehm, MD, FIDSA, FACP is Vice Chair of the Cleveland Clinic’s Department of Infectious Disease. She also serves as Executive Director for Physician Health and an Associate Chief of Staff for Cleveland Clinic. Dr Rehm earned her undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Nebraska and completed internal medicine and infectious disease training at Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Rehm is a fellow of the Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA) and the American College of Physicians. Her term on the IDSA Board of Directors will be completed this year.
Endocarditis, Staphylococcus aureus bacteremia and adult immunizations are the focus of Dr. Rehm’s clinical work and scholarly activity. In 1982 she established Cleveland Clinic's outpatient parenteral antibiotic therapy (OPAT) program.
Dr. Rehm is a Professor of Medicine at Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine and a charter member of the College’s Medical Student Promotions and Review Committee. She served as Program Director for Cleveland Clinic’s Infectious Disease Fellowship and its Internal Medicine Residency Program.
As Executive Director for Physician Health, Dr. Rehm administers well-being, medical leave and impairment programs for Cleveland Clinic. She holds a certificate in executive coaching from Case Western Reserve University’s Weatherhead School of Management and is a Board Certified Coach. She is a member of the core faculty for the Clinic’s Center for Excellence in Coaching and Mentoring.
