This program will review the history of global health engagement from its roots in colonialism and mission-based trips to more sustainable partnerships, as well as ethical issues related to such engagement. Faculty will highlight global health engagement models from medical and surgical specialties that adhere to ethical standards and address capacity-building and systems-strengthening.
