P0064 - Adaptation, Validation and Cut-Off Values of Ages & Stages Questionnaire 3th Edition (ASQ-3) Spanish Version in a Lima-Perú Urban Setting.

Background: The use of a validated broadband psychomotor developmental screening tools is needed in an outpatient pediatric setting for a Peruvian urban population.
A study was carried out to make a cultural-linguistic adaptation, determine its reliability, validity and cut-off points of the Spanish version of Age and Stages Questionnaire third edition (ASQ-3), a broadband psychomotor developmental screening tool in an outpatient urban setting population in Lima-Perú.

Method: Questionnaires were applied to parents of children between 1 to 66 months old of age. The sampling method was by convenience.

Results: There were 5 830 questionnaires applied to parents of 3 507 children. In 2 667 (45.7%) corresponded to questionnaires between 14 and 36 months. The general and five specific areas internal consistency by means of the Ordinary alpha index were between 0.70-0.94. Content validity by judging criteria using the Content validity index by Lawshe method, the Aiken V coefficient, or both were valid for most of the questionnaires. The biserial item-test correlations were > 0.30 for most items (p <0.010). The construct validity according to the factorial analysis determined that the 5 factors or areas of the ASQ-3 were adequate. Cut-off points by areas and for all questionnaires of the ASQ-3 were determined.

Conclusions: The Spanish version of the ASQ-3 proved to be a reliable and valid tool to monitor the psychomotor development for children under 5 years of age in an outpatient urban setting in Lima-Perú.
