Sold out at last year’s AAA conference, this introductory workshop explores how design anthropology can be used to understand and solve business problems in technology, consumer, government, non-profit and other organizations. Participants will learn anthropologically informed Human-Centered Design research, analysis, and reporting method pioneered by organizations such as Adaptive Path, Cooper, and IDEO. The workshop will center on a real world design challenge, provided by the AAA. Participants will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience partnering with a client/stakeholder. The workshop presenters will also share first hand accounts of how the methods are applied in the field and will answer questions about the professional transition to design anthropology.
Please note that this workshop repeats substantial material covered in last year's workshop. It is an introduction to Design Anthropology. We plan to offer a Level 2 workshop in the future.
